Some of the Amazon communities have local community surveillance systems to protect their shells, wood and resources in general, however, it does not always work and they are even involved in corruption cases. In the Ampiyacu river basin, in the Loreto region, Peru, residents organize to carry out surveillance and try to improve past mistakes.
